According to the US trade insider on August 9, the European Commission said on Thursday that the United States should lift export restrictions on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and allow Europe to import more liquid LNG from the United States. Currently, US legislation still requires prior approval from the regulatory authorities. Approval, these restrictions and procedures need to be removed in order to make the US LNG easier to export to Europe. EU Climate Action and Energy Commissioner Carnet said that diversifying energy supply and importing LNG from the United States is the EU's top priority. European Commission President Juncker said that if the United States cancels export barriers and regulations, the United States may play a strategic role in the EU's natural gas supply.
